The Switzerland Euro 2024 squad has been finalised, with the team brimming with confidence as they prepare to head to Germany this summer. The Swiss are aiming for a winning start to their European Championship campaign, hoping to reach the knockout stages for the third time in a row.
Switzerland has been drawn into Group A alongside Italy, Turkey, and Wales. They will kick off their tournament against Italy on June 14 in Rome. The Swiss will then face Turkey in Baku on June 18 before concluding their group stage campaign against Wales in Munich on June 22.
Head coach Murat Yakin has selected a strong squad for the tournament, including several players who were part of the team that reached the quarter-finals of Euro 2020. Granit Xhaka, Xherdan Shaqiri, and Yann Sommer are all included in the squad, as well as rising stars such as Breel Embolo and Renato Steffen.
Switzerland will be hoping to make a deep run in the tournament and will be confident of their chances, given their recent form. They have won five of their last six matches, including a 3-0 victory over Spain in the Nations League in September.
